In this course, we will explore IOTA from fundamentals to hands-on development. You’ll learn what IOTA is, why to build on it, and where it shines, then master the core tech stack across IOTA Mainnet (L1) and IOTA EVM (L2) with essential tooling such as the Explorer, Wallet, CLI, and SDKs. We’ll also dive into Move on IOTA—its object-centric model, ownership flows, and security patterns. By the end, you will build and publish your first IOTA Move smart contract on testnet, including setting up an account, claiming test tokens, initializing a Move project, deploying the package, and verifying transactions and object changes on the block explorer.

Unit 1 - Understanding IOTA

In this unit, you’ll build a clear understanding of IOTA—its positioning, core technical strengths, and the real-world areas where it delivers the most value.

Unit 2 - IOTA Core Tech & Tooling

In this unit, you’ll learn IOTA’s core architecture (Mainnet/L1 and IOTA EVM/L2) and get hands-on with the essential tooling: Explorer, Wallet, CLI, and SDKs.

Unit 3 - Introduction to Move on IOTA

In this unit, you’ll explore Move on IOTA—Objects and Packages, ownership and state flows, plus initialization and authority patterns for secure smart contracts.

Unit 4 - Getting Started: Your First Smart Contract on IOTA

In this unit, you’ll complete your first end-to-end deployment: install the CLI, create an account and claim test tokens, initialize a Move project, publish your contract, and verify everything on-chain via the block explorer.
