An On-the-Job Training (OJT) Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for new and existing employees. The primary goal is to ensure employees acquire the skills and knowledge needed to perform their job duties effectively and contribute to the organization's success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Program Development: Design and develop comprehensive on-the-job training programs tailored to different roles within the organization.
  • Collaborate with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Create training materials, manuals, and guides to support the training programs.
  • Implementation of Training Programs: Coordinate and conduct training sessions, workshops, and hands-on training activities.
  • Utilize various training methods, including demonstrations, simulations, and job shadowing.
  • Schedule training sessions and ensure all new hires and relevant employees attend required training.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor the progress of trainees and provide feedback to ensure they are meeting learning objectives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback from trainees and supervisors.
  • Adjust training programs based on feedback and performance data to enhance effectiveness.
  • Mentorship and Support: Assign mentors or experienced employees to guide and support new hires during the training period.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to trainees to help them integrate and succeed in their roles. Address any issues or challenges trainees face during the training process.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and trainee progress.
  • Prepare and present reports on training outcomes and program effectiveness to management.
  • Ensure all training documentation is up-to-date and compliant with company policies and industry standards.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure training programs comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on best practices and trends in training and development to continuously improve training programs.
  • Implement safety training and ensure employees adhere to health and safety regulations during on-the-job activities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with HR, management, and department heads to align training programs with organizational goals.
  • Communicate training schedules, requirements, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organization.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Training Expertise: Strong understanding of training methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in training and development, human resources, or a similar role. Experience in the specific industry of the organization is advantageous.
