Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant with strong end-to-end accounting experience to support the financial operations of Australian entities. This role requires someone who is confident across the full accounting cycle, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end accounting processes including general ledger management, journal entries, and month-end close.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure financial data is accurate and up to date.
  • Support audits by preparing required documentation and reconciliation schedules.
  • Monitor financial transactions and ensure proper recording in accounting systems.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in end-to-end accounting and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience performing bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Experience working with Australian companies or Australian accounting standards is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and financial software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Australian businesses in a remote or offshore environment.
  • Familiarity with common Australian accounting platforms (e.g., Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, or similar).
