Position Title: Senior Software Engineer (QA)

Location: Kurokawa-gun, Miyagi Prefecture

Work Set-up: Onsite (Full time)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with over 3 years of experience in quality assurance and management. This role involves providing support for the software function development department of an etching equipment manufacturer.

• We conduct end-to-end software quality assurance and analysis to ensure that all deliverables strictly meet technical standards.
• High-level development support through code-level defect identification, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Designing and maintaining automated test scripts and internal tools to improve the software deployment cycle.
• Development of custom VBA macros and scripts for automating data validation and streamlining quality reporting workflows.
• We will conduct a root cause analysis and collaborate with the development team to support software performance improvement.

To get to the office from Sendai, take the subway Namboku Line from Sendai Station to Izumi-Chuo Station. A shuttle bus runs from Izumi-Chuo Station to the office. The journey from Sendai Station to the office takes about an hour. The bus ride from Izumi-Chuo Station to the office takes up to about 40 minutes.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years of experience in software development, accompanied by a deep understanding of the coding lifecycle.
• Advanced expertise and skills in VBA for creating robust automation systems and developing support utilities.
• Proficient in Python or shell scripting for building and managing automated testing environments.
• A strong foundation in software QA principles and experience across manual and automated testing frameworks.
• Communication skills in Japanese, ability to explain complex concepts.

Good to Have 

• Development experience from PoC to product deployment
• Actual experience using Microsoft Office tools such as MS Excel and MS Word.

Language Skill

• English – Not required
• Japanese – JLPT N2 level or higher
