Job Summary
The Trellix Administrator is responsible for administering, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the organisation’s Trellix security environment. The role ensures endpoint protection policies, security updates, threat detection, incident response, reporting, and system integrations operate effectively across all managed endpoints and servers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).
- Deploy and manage Trellix security agents across workstations and servers.
- Configure and maintain endpoint protection, anti-malware, firewall, web control, device control, and application-control policies.
- Create and manage system groups, tags, policies, tasks, and permission sets.
- Monitor endpoint health, agent communication, policy compliance, and product deployment status.
- Ensure security engines, signatures, DAT files, and product modules remain updated.
- Investigate malware detections, suspicious activities, policy violations, and security alerts.
- Perform containment, quarantine, remediation, and escalation of security incidents.
- Troubleshoot agent deployment, repository, update, communication, and policy-enforcement issues.
- Configure distributed repositories, agent handlers, and ePO server components where applicable.
- Conduct regular vulnerability, compliance, and endpoint-security reviews.
- Generate operational, compliance, incident, and management reports.
- Maintain exclusions and allowlists based on approved change requests.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, network, application, SOC, and service-desk teams.
- Support integration with SIEM, Active Directory, ticketing, and monitoring platforms.
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, asset records, and change logs.
- Support upgrades, migrations, backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery testing.
- Liaise with Trellix support and external vendors for technical escalation.
- Participate in audits and provide evidence of endpoint-security controls.
- Provide technical guidance and training to support teams and users.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Three or more years of experience administering endpoint-security platforms.
- Practical experience with Trellix ePO and Trellix endpoint-security products.
- Good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of malware protection, host firewall, web control, and security policies.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, networking, databases, and certificate management.
- Experience with incident investigation, troubleshooting, and technical reporting.
- Relevant Trellix, Microsoft, Linux, or cybersecurity certification is an advantage
