Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Electrical Engineer to lead and manage electrical engineering projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and project closeout. The role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical engineering projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines.
- Lead project meetings and monitor progress against approved schedules and milestones.
- Manage procurement of electrical equipment, materials, and services.
- Supervise and coordinate site installation, testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage project risks, technical issues, changes, claims, and variations.
- Review contractor/subcontractor performance and ensure work meets approved plans and specifications.
- Conduct inspections, testing, commissioning, and quality-control activities as required.
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, technical reports, and management presentations.
- Ensure proper documentation, as-built drawings, testing records, operation manuals, and project closeout documents are completed.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to electrical engineers and project team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Professional engineering license/registration is preferred or required depending on local regulations.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and project management, preferably in construction, industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or power projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, contractors, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, testing, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project-management software; familiarity with AutoCAD, electrical design software, or BIM tools is an advantage.
