SAP JVA consultant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Consultant with strong expertise in SAP Controlling (CO) and working knowledge of Joint Venture Accounting (JVA). The candidate will be responsible for managing CO reporting enhancements, CO master data changes, partner equity setup, data migration, and FICO-related configuration and enhancements associated with the JVA implementation.

The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, finance teams, and technical teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, appropriate partner equity allocation, and seamless integration between SAP FICO/CO and JVA processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. CO Reporting and Enhancements

• Take ownership of SAP CO reporting changes and enhancements following the JVA implementation.
• Analyze business requirements and implement changes to existing CO reports to support JVA-related reporting needs.
• Ensure accurate reporting of cost allocations, joint venture costs, partner shares, and other relevant controlling information.
• Perform impact analysis on existing CO reports and reporting structures due to JVA-related changes.
• Coordinate with business users to validate reporting outputs and resolve discrepancies.

2. CO Master Data Management and Data Migration

• Manage SAP CO master data changes required to support the JVA implementation, including changes related to joint venture partner equity setup.
• Coordinate and execute master data migration activities associated with JVA partner equity structures.
• Ensure the accuracy and consistency of relevant CO master data, including cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, and other applicable controlling objects.
• Validate migrated data, perform reconciliation, and resolve data quality issues.
• Maintain appropriate documentation for master data changes, migration activities, and business approvals.

3. SAP FICO Configuration and JVA Project Support

• Take ownership of SAP FICO configuration changes and enhancements required for the JVA project.
• Analyze functional requirements and translate them into SAP configuration and solution designs.
• Support integration between SAP FI, CO, and JVA processes, ensuring accurate financial postings and controlling data flows.
• Configure and validate relevant FICO settings based on the agreed JVA solution design.
• Assess the impact of JVA-related changes on existing financial and controlling processes.
• Coordinate with technical teams on functional specifications, development, testing, and deployment activities.

4. Testing, Deployment, and Support

• Prepare and execute functional, integration, and regression test scenarios for CO and FICO changes related to JVA.
• Support UAT, defect analysis, issue resolution, and business sign-off.
• Assist with cutover planning, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Provide ongoing functional support for JVA-related CO reporting, master data, and configuration issues.
• Maintain functional documentation, configuration records, test evidence, and change management documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP FICO, with a primary focus on SAP Controlling (CO).
• Good understanding of SAP Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) concepts and business processes.
• Experience supporting JVA implementation, enhancements, or post-implementation activities.
• Experience in CO reporting changes, master data maintenance, and data migration.
• Understanding of joint venture partner equity setup and related financial and controlling implications.
• Experience in SAP FI-CO integration, configuration, functional testing, and issue resolution.
• Ability to perform impact analysis, gather business requirements, and prepare functional specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the oil and gas, energy, utilities, or other joint venture-based industries.
• Exposure to SAP JVA processes, including joint venture structures, equity groups, partner shares, and joint venture-related accounting.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling, if applicable to the project.
• Experience with data migration tools, reconciliation, and data validation.
• Experience working with cross-functional finance, accounting, and technical teams.
