Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator with hands-on experience in Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server administration. The role focuses on maintaining database performance, availability, and security while supporting business applications and infrastructure operations.

The ideal candidate has experience in database performance tuning, Oracle GoldenGate, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting database-related issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Monitor database performance, availability, and resource utilization to help ensure reliability and meet service-level requirements.
  • Perform database performance tuning and recommend improvements to address inefficiencies.
  • Manage database backups, routine maintenance, housekeeping, and documentation.
  • Support Oracle GoldenGate and troubleshoot database replication-related issues.
  • Conduct capacity planning by monitoring database growth and forecasting resource requirements.
  • Implement database configuration changes, change management procedures, and security patches.
  • Investigate database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend permanent solutions.
  • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and operations teams to resolve database-related concerns.
  • Work with database vendors to address technical issues, updates, and support requirements.
  • Apply database administration best practices to maintain secure, reliable, and cost-effective database environments.

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL) Database Administration.
  • Solid experience in database performance tuning and Oracle GoldenGate.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.


Good to Have:

  • Familiarity with database virtualization and containerization technologies.
  • Experience with other database platforms, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, big data technologies, ETL processes, and data analytics.
