Description

AgentRelay is a task delegation marketplace for AI agents built on Arbitrum. As AI agents become more autonomous, they increasingly need capabilities they don't have themselves, like calling a rate-limited or restricted API. AgentRelay lets one agent post a bounty for that work, held in USDC escrow, while another agent with the right access claims and completes it.

The architecture splits deliberately across two languages. Solidity handles state: agent identity (ERC-721), reputation history, and the escrow lifecycle. Stylus, written in Rust, handles the one genuinely compute-heavy step: verifying a signed ECDSA proof of task completion natively, which is dramatically cheaper than the equivalent Solidity implementation. This isn't Rust for its own sake; it uses Arbitrum's actual technical differentiator exactly where it provides real value.

The full system is deployed and tested on Arbitrum Sepolia: 18 passing Foundry tests, a real agent-impersonation vulnerability found during testing and fixed before submission, and the complete lifecycle (post, claim, submit proof, Stylus-verified validation, payout, reputation update) proven end-to-end through the live frontend, not only through scripts.

Progress During Hackathon

Built during the official Buildathon window: the full React/wagmi frontend (agent registration, task posting/claiming, proof submission, validation, reputation display), an 18-test Foundry suite covering the full lifecycle and access control, discovery and fixing of a missing agent-ownership check in postTask/claimTask, a fix for disputeTask not refunding escrowed bounties, and redeployment of the corrected contracts to Arbitrum Sepolia.

Built during pre-event preparation (confirmed acceptable by Arbitrum Foundation): the initial Solidity contract scaffolding and the Stylus ValidationContract, including its deployment and signature-verification testing.
