AirShare is an AI-powered file transfer application that allows users to send files using hand gestures, eliminating the need for physical input devices. Using OpenCV and MediaPipe, AirShare accuratel
Current file-sharing methods are inefficient for hands-free environments.
Existing solutions like Bluetooth, email attachments, and cloud uploads are slow or require internet.
Hands-On Bottleneck: Physical interaction is required for file selection & sharing.
App Dependency: Dependency on external applications (Google Drive, WhatsApp, etc.).
Security Concerns: Security risks in traditional file-sharing methods.
The Need: A faster, touch-less, and intuitive file transfer solution is essential.
Throughout this hackathon, our team has made significant strides in developing AirShare. We successfully implemented the core logic for the file-sharing system, enabling seamless transfer of PPTs, PDFs, screen-recorded videos, and screenshots. To enhance the user experience, we also built a Flask-based web application, providing a structured UI for our project. Beyond development, we actively engaged in discussions, refined our approach, and created detailed presentations to communicate our idea effectively. The feedback from our first mentoring session was invaluable, helping us identify key areas for improvement. By the second round, we had addressed these suggestions and presented a fully functional demo showcasing our working prototype. With each iteration, our project has evolved, and we are excited about the impact AirShare can have in redefining file sharing.
