Banana Port I/O (BPIO) Hackathon Project Overview (Product-Focused)
Banana Port I/O (BPIO) is a Web3 card game designed for engineers and tech enthusiasts, blending workplace metaphors, geek culture, and on-chain verifiable mechanics to create a new paradigm of deep strategic gameplay and community-driven storytelling. We’re not just building a game—we’re using BPIO as a blueprint to explore high-quality, sustainable, and player-built Web3 gaming.
Core Gameplay: Three-Dimensional Survival + NP Staking + Exile Mechanism
Players assume the role of system-managed individuals in a near-future "brain in a vat" world, managing three key resources: money, energy, and health. Depleting any one triggers a crisis, and reaching zero health results in elimination. All actions are driven by cards, requiring strategic use of offense, defense, work planning, and rest to survive. The game introduces the Neural Point (NP) staking system: players must stake NP to join matches, with winners absorbing the NP of losers. Players with insufficient NP become "exiles," shifting into an asymmetric combat mode as bosses or tradable AI agents for other players. This dynamic identity shift creates a high-tension, continuously evolving gameplay ecosystem.
Economic Model: Short-Term Liquidity + Long-Term Evolution
BPIO's economy centers on NP as the core token, with high-frequency use cases: match staking, community interaction items (e.g., “muzzle,” “trap”), and NFT card crafting. Each match burns a portion of NP, creating deflationary pressure to maintain value stability. Revenue streams include seasonal card pack sales, physical blind boxes, NFT transaction fees, and community task reward pools. As the ecosystem matures, the BPIO storyline will progress toward a "system collapse" finale, converting all player assets into commemorative NFTs that preserve value within a broader future game network—achieving an ecological legacy where “when a whale dies, thousands thrive.”
Community & Growth: Geek Culture + Precision Outreach
We target engineers first, building resonance through coding jokes, workplace satire, and cyber-philosophy. Our closed beta will invite 100 core users, while public launch will use NP-based invite purchases and community activity unlocks to filter for highly engaged players. We'll promote across developer communities such as Twitter, Telegram, Hackquest, and OpenBuild, and host offline Hackerhouse battle events to strengthen brand recognition. Our goal is 200K video views and 100K community impressions during public launch, building momentum for mainnet release.
Unique Narrative: Community Puzzle + Collaborative Mystery Solving
BPIO features a meticulously crafted world: when a schizophrenic artist’s consciousness connects to the global brain network, the system begins to collapse. Players must collect scattered NFT-formatted "research notes" and "diary fragments" within the game, collaborating via the community to reconstruct the truth and influence the story’s direction. This is an on-chain verifiable collective narrative mechanism—truth isn't unilaterally revealed by the developers, but discovered and confirmed by players, greatly enhancing engagement and sense of belonging.
Technical Architecture: Retrospective, Verifiable, Composable
BPIO’s backend uses a purely functional design, where all inputs (actions, cards, states) generate deterministic outputs, fully logging every state transition to enable full match retrospection. Critical events (e.g., win/loss, rare card minting) are anchored to the Pharos chain, ensuring immutability. The frontend is built with Rust + WebAssembly for enhanced security and performance, supporting hot-loading for dynamic UI and skin updates. Future extensions may include ZK-proof verification of match fairness, establishing a trust foundation for on-chain competition.
Future Vision: From Game to Protocol
BPIO is more than a product—it’s a reusable design framework. We plan to open-source its core mechanics and provide a lightweight SDK, enabling other creators to build derivative cards, new characters, storylines, or even port the framework to different universes. Ultimately, BPIO will evolve into a decentralized card protocol, supporting cross-game asset interoperability, AI Agent trading, and community governance—becoming the first culturally rich, long-term value Web3 game landmark on the Pharos chain.
BPIO’s goal is clear: to create a Web3 game that players are genuinely willing to invest in long-term, participate deeply, and emotionally identify with. We’re not chasing Ponzi-like growth, but instead using thoughtful mechanics, cultural resonance, and technical integrity to rebuild player trust in Web3 gaming.
