Problem
There has been an increasingly aparent problem with the onboarding of new Crypto users, this process should be as easy as it is nowadays to integrate into the Banking system, but wallet creation and low adoption of account abstration has proven this difficult.
Among others we have:
Multichain USDC Friction
Users struggle with sending USDC across chains due to manual network switching, approval pop-ups, bridging, and gas complexity—making everyday transactions clunky and error-prone.
Poor Web3 UX & Adoption Barrier
The convoluted experience of bridging and configuring chains deters mainstream users and slows adoption. Complexity undermines participation.
Sybil Attacks in Decentralized Identity
Without robust identity verification, Web3 platforms are vulnerable to bots and Sybil attacks—jeopardizing fair token distributions, governance, and community integrity.
Centralized Identity Vulnerabilities
Traditional identity systems depend on monolithic databases (e.g. Google, Facebook), risking data breaches, surveillance, and loss of user control.
The past Q1 of 2024 we were presented with a problem. As we were allocating telecommunication systems in a very underserved community here in Mexico.

What we noticed as a problem was; we had to pay these people and we were unable to do so easily. Maybe for a couple households, but try 300, each month.
And it was very hard to do so because in Latin America, according to the World Bank, nearly half the population remains unbanked or underbanked, with limited access to secure savings, payments, or formal identification. This financial exclusion leaves people vulnerable to theft, inflation, and economic instability. Traditional banking fails to reach these communities, and while crypto promises a solution, adoption remains low due to complexity, trust gaps, and limited local infrastructure.
And to be fair the region is perfectly primed for Stablecoin inclusion when their national currencies are as volatile as they seem. This is where networks such as Metamask come into action.
Solution
Effisend = Identity + Payment platform.
Effisend addresses this with a unified solution. It’s a biometric payment platform that combines a simple wallet experience with FaceDID — our AI-powered facial identity system. This enables fast, secure, and inclusive transactions through facial recognition, alongside traditional methods like QR and others.
By focusing on identity first, we unlock access to digital finance without requiring documents, passwords, or smartphones. FaceID becomes a self-owned, portable identity layer for users who’ve historically been excluded. For merchants, it integrates easily into Android POS systems, requiring no additional hardware.
It bridges the gap between Web3 technology and real-world needs, turning complex crypto infrastructure into an intuitive, everyday tool for communities that need it most. With FaceID at its core, Effisend isn’t just solving payments — it’s solving access, trust, and inclusion.
🚀 System Diagram
EffiSend is built entirely from scratch to leverage the most advanced web3 infrastructure for multi-chain payments and wallet management:

- Metamask SDK
Handles native user wallet connections, network switching, account management, and secure token approvals. It ensures users maintain full control over their own MetaMask wallets, while enabling the dApp to interact seamlessly through a custom React context with retries, session persistence, and event tracking.
- Circle Developer Controlled Wallets
Provide secure, non-custodial programmable wallets managed via Circle’s infrastructure. This lets us perform operations like createTransaction
(native transfers) or createContractExecutionTransaction
(ERC20 transfers, approvals, or custom contracts) without ever exposing private keys, all tied to a DID or FaceID stored securely in Firestore.
- LiFi SDK
Enables effortless cross-chain routing, creating optimal routes for bridging and swaps across blockchains, and executing them via the Circle DCWs. With CCTPv2 under the hood, users can pay in one chain or token and settle on another, with the entire complexity hidden from them.
Progress During Hackathon
- The web dApp was developed from scratch using the Expo framework, integrating the MetaMask SDK, Circle Wallets, and LiFi SDK. With this we can be multi-platform. - A FaceID payment system was implemented, linked to Circle Wallets, using the MetaMask SDK for authentication and token approval. Using the LiFi SDK (via CCTPv2), cross-chain payments can be made easily and automatically in Circle Wallets without additional user interaction. - We implemented a QR payment system, similar to payments made with AliPay or WeChat.
