Neon Sentinel is a cyberpunk GameFi shooter built on Mantle where skillful gameplay creates real, stakeable value. Players fight through Neon Districts, extract rewards from successful runs, and stake their progress to unlock upgrades, districts, and long-term incentives.
The game combines fast-paced combat with on-chain ownership, yield-backed rewards, and fair progression mechanics. Instead of inflationary play-to-earn models, Neon Sentinel rewards players through staking, vaults, and district-based economies that promote retention and sustainable growth.
Designed as a consumer-first GameFi experience, Neon Sentinel showcases how Mantle’s low-cost, high-performance EVM stack can power engaging games with real economic depth, verifiable gameplay, and player-owned worlds.
Progress During Hackathon
During the hackathon, we designed and built Neon Sentinel from concept to a functional GameFi prototype tailored for the Mantle ecosystem. We implemented a playable cyberpunk shooter prototype and redesigned the frontend to support core GameFi mechanics such as extraction value, vault staking, district control, and reward claiming. Player identity and ownership are currently handled using standard ECDSA wallet-based authentication to ensure a smooth and accessible onboarding experience. On the smart contract side, we designed a Mantle-native architecture covering player NFTs, district ownership, staking vaults, and yield-backed rewards, with a clear separation between gameplay, economy, and reward settlement. To ensure long-term scalability and fairness, we also scoped privacy-preserving and anti-cheat improvements using zero-knowledge proofs as a planned upgrade, including ZK-based gameplay verification and identity enhancements. By the end of the hackathon, Neon Sentinel demonstrates a complete GameFi loop—play, extract, stake, and earn—while remaining production-oriented and ready for iterative upgrades on Mantle.
