Description

The Problem
In today’s crypto landscape, staking has largely become a game of speculation. Users lock up tokens, hoping for returns, but the process is disconnected from the real world—no tangible value is created, no broader impact is made. At the same time, farmers, who form the backbone of our economy, continue to struggle with inconsistent yields, lack of access to capital, and limited technological support. This creates a striking imbalance: billions of dollars move within crypto ecosystems, while those driving real-world growth are left behind.

The Solution
Our project bridges this gap by transforming staking into a purpose-driven activity. Instead of staking on tokens alone, users stake directly on real farms, powered by DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure). We’ve built a low-cost sensor hub that collects live data from farms—soil conditions, humidity, temperature, and crop growth. This data is processed by our AI engine to generate farm health scores, yield predictions, and growth insights.

Users can browse these metrics through our intuitive staking dashboard, evaluate farm performance, and choose where to stake. The better the farm performs, the higher the returns—creating a model where users and farmers succeed together.

Stake Split
Every stake is distributed meaningfully:

  • 80% goes back to stakers as rewards.

  • 17% flows directly to farmers, ensuring their livelihoods improve as more people stake.

  • 2% goes into a sustainability pool, incentivizing eco-friendly farming practices.

  • 1% supports the platform’s growth and maintenance.

Additionally, if a staker chooses to withdraw early, a 10% penalty applies. Instead of being wasted, this penalty is redirected into the sustainability pool, further strengthening long-term ecological farming initiatives.

The Tech
We’ve deployed on Arbitrum Sepolia, leveraging its scalability, speed, and low-cost transactions. This makes micro-stakes feasible, ensuring accessibility for all users while keeping on-chain data processing affordable. The IoT device + blockchain + AI integration makes this more than a DeFi product—it’s a true DePIN innovation.

Future Enhancements

  • Chainlink Oracle & Automation: To make farm data delivery fully decentralized and tamper-proof.

  • Sustainability & Green Incentives: Reward farmers who adopt eco-friendly practices with bonus yields or recognition badges.

  • Scalability: Expand vertically into diverse crops and horizontally into more geographies, turning OnlyFarmers into a global agricultural DePIN network.

Novelty & Impact
The novelty lies in taking staking beyond speculation. We’re connecting digital capital flows with physical farming outputs, making DeFi not just profitable but also purposeful. Our model democratizes farm investment, supports local agriculture, and introduces a new paradigm where crypto yields equal real-world growth.

The impact is twofold:

  • For Stakers: Transparent, data-backed returns with the knowledge that their investments are fueling real-world progress.

  • For Farmers: Access to capital, improved technology adoption, and an incentive to adopt sustainable practices.

In essence, we are building the first-ever impact driven staking platform for farms, where staking benefits stakers, farmers, and the planet—all at once.

Progress During Hackathon

Idea to Architecture: We started by identifying the gap in speculative staking and designed a model that connects staking with real-world farms through DePIN devices. DePIN Prototype: Built a working IoT sensor hub design to capture soil, humidity, and temperature data from farms. AI Integration (PiCompute): Developed a pipeline where farm data is processed to generate health scores, yield predictions, and APY insights. Platform Development: Created a staking dashboard where users can view farm IDs, PiCore IDs, farm health, yield scores, and stake with just one click. Smart Contracts on Arbitrum : Deployed contracts to manage staking, yield distribution (80-17-2-1 split), and penalty-based withdrawals feeding into the sustainability pool. Demo Ready: Built a functional demo flow—farm data input → AI scoring → user staking → yield distribution.

Fundraising Status

Currently, we have not raised external capital yet, as the project is in its early prototype stage built during the hackathon. Our focus so far has been on validating the idea, building the DePIN hardware prototype, and deploying the staking contracts on Arbitrum Sepolia . That said, the project is highly scalable and impact-driven, and we see a clear path to fundraising after the hackathon—whether through grants, ecosystem support (Arbitrum, Chainlink), or impact-focused Web3 funds. The dual-value model (farmers + stakers) makes it attractive both socially and financially.
