Programmable payments where USDG can automatically become cash, savings, ownership or vested assets, with gasless execution, constrained agents and compliance controls
OwnPay is money that knows what happens next.
Most payment products stop when money reaches the recipient. OwnPay starts there.
OwnPay is a programmable payment and ownership account built on Robinhood Chain. Users set an OwnRule once, and incoming USDG can automatically be divided onchain between money they can spend, money they want to save, and money they want to turn into ownership.
Receive 100 USDG with a 70 / 10 / 20 rule, for example, and OwnPay can route 70 USDG to spendable funds, 10 USDG to savings, and 20 USDG toward a stock portfolio.
The ownership allocation is programmable too. A user can choose and weight up to five testnet stock tokens — for example, splitting the ownership portion 50/50 between TSLA and AMZN. When market pricing is available, OwnPay can execute the ownership allocation at the relayed market price. When the market is closed, the USDG remains earmarked for ownership and is queued for the next market session; with an authorized agent, it can be executed automatically when the market reopens.
The important part is that this is not merely a budgeting interface. The behavior is enforced onchain.
OwnRules defines how incoming money is allocated and enforces the user's per-payment and daily limits. Changing the rule also invalidates previous agent authority, so automation cannot quietly continue under outdated permissions.
OwnPay adds constrained, revocable agent automation rather than giving an agent unrestricted wallet control. A user can authorize the OwnPay agent for a limited period — from an hour up to 30 days. The agent can process incoming funds according to the saved rule and execute eligible queued ownership actions, but it cannot rewrite the user's rule, choose arbitrary recipients, or freely move funds. The user can revoke access at any time.
Account abstraction removes another major piece of crypto friction. OwnPay uses a ZeroDev smart account with sponsored user operations, allowing supported actions in the testnet experience to execute without requiring the user to maintain ETH for gas. The sponsorship flow has been demonstrated with an account holding 0 ETH.
OwnPay also makes payment policy programmable by the recipient. A recipient can choose to accept payments only from approved addresses, block specific senders, require a payment note, or impose a daily limit per sender. These conditions are checked before execution by the OwnRules contract. This is a user-controlled payment policy layer — not a claim of KYC or regulatory certification.
Ownership can also move independently of incoming USDG. OwnPay supports Pay, Gift and Tip flows for testnet stock tokens: vested grants that can return the unvested portion to the sender if revoked, timed gifts, and instant stock tips with an onchain memo.
And every important action leaves evidence. Payments, splits, ownership purchases, queued allocations, stock grants, claims, policy changes and agent actions appear in the user's onchain activity, making the system inspectable rather than opaque.
The hackathon build is live on Robinhood Chain Testnet, chain ID 46630, with deployed contracts and a connected frontend. It uses test USDG and the testnet stock-token set TSLA, AMD, AMZN, NFLX and PLTR. Stock pricing comes from public market data relayed onchain with the market timestamp, while the OwnPay stock desk remains explicitly a testnet venue, not a production exchange.
The tokens have no monetary value, and the current deployment is for testnet demonstration only.
Money arrives. OwnPay already knows what should happen next.
OwnPay existed before the Open House Singapore Buildathon as an early payments and tokenized-asset concept.
During this hackathon, we redesigned and implemented a new Robinhood Chain version focused on programmable payments and ownership.
Work completed during the hackathon includes:
Robinhood Chain Testnet integration
Paxos USDG integration
OwnRules programmable payment allocation
Robinhood-compatible smart contracts
gas-sponsored smart-account transaction architecture
shareable payment intents
policy-controlled agent automation
spending limits, expiry and revocation controls for agents
compliance-policy enforcement
transaction receipt and activity architecture
testnet ownership-allocation architecture
frontend integration and Robinhood Chain deployment infrastructure
contract and agent-route test suites
The main change during the hackathon was evolving OwnPay from a simple asset/payment application into a programmable financial account where users can define enforceable rules for what happens whenever money moves
Bootstrapped. OwnPay is currently being developed by the founding team and has not raised external funding.
