Mintellect is a decentralized research publishing platform built on BNB Chain, combining AI and blockchain to solve critical issues in academic publishing such as lack of transparency, plagiarism, restricted access, and unreliable peer reviews.

The Problem:

Mintellect offers an AI-driven, on-chain platform where:

Progress During Hackathon

Hackathon Progress: Mintellect on BNB Chain 1. MVP Smart Contracts Deployed core NFT minting, trust scoring, and staking contracts on BNB Testnet. Verified on-chain minting of research NFTs and basic trust score logic. 2. AI Plagiarism Engine v1 Integrated a prototype AI plagiarism detector in our backend pipeline. Enabled automated flagging of duplicate text and passive alerts to authors. 3. Decentralized Peer Review Workflow Launched a minimal peer review UI where reviewers can stake tokens and submit feedback. Built basic scoring and reputation assignment logic tied to review quality. 4. UI/UX & Platform Demo Developed a front-end demo (Next.js + Tailwind) with pages for minting papers, viewing abstracts, submitting reviews, and dashboard analytics. Showcased the end-to-end flow—mint → trust score → review reputation. 5. On-Chain Interactions & Wallet Integration Enabled seamless BNB Testnet wallet interaction (via MetaMask/wagmi) for minting NFTs, staking tokens, and submitting reviews. 6. Data Storage & Retrieval Implemented IPFS integration for storing research metadata and abstracts. MongoDB backend supports retrieval of papers, trust scores, and review history.
