TreeByte is a Costa Rican Web3 platform that transforms digital actions into tangible environmental impact. Each NFT on our platform represents a real tree planted in Costa Rica—geolocated, photographed, and certified via blockchain to ensure transparency and traceability.

Our model bridges sustainability, technology, and emotional engagement through four key pillars:

NFT-based tree adoption with verifiable ecological impact.
Tokenization of carbon credits, allowing companies to access reliable and auditable offsets.
Regenerative tourism experiences, where users can plant trees and earn loyalty rewards.
Support for landowners, empowering them with fair compensation for forest conservation.

Built with a strong technical foundation—using Cairo on Starknet and storing metadata on IPFS—TreeByte combines the decentralization of Web3 with real-world reforestation and verified carbon capture.

Progress During Hackathon

The idea behind TreeByte began to take shape, evolving from a concept into a structured proposal. We gathered valuable feedback from multiple attendees and mentors, which helped us refine our approach and validate our vision. As part of our MVP development, we designed and iterated on TreeByte’s website to better communicate our mission and user experience. Additionally, we created and successfully deployed the smart contracts that power the platform’s core Web3 functionality.
