What is Voltic?

Voltic is a modern, privacy-first P2P self custodial payment application designed to make crypto as easy as a credit card tap, without the middleman. It leverages NFC and QR technology to enable instant, seamless transfers directly between users.

Why Voltic?

  • True P2P Privacy: Conduct your payments directly. No big companies spying on your spending habits.

  • Zero Middleman Fees: Stop losing 2% of every transaction to massive payment processors. Keep your money where it belongs.

  • KYC-Free: We believe in financial privacy. No intrusive "Know Your Customer" procedures required.

  • Tap-to-Pay Simplicity: The power of the blockchain with the convenience of a modern wallet. Just tap your phone against a merchant or scan a QR code.

  • Focused Usability: Unlike other wallets that clutter the UI with 100 coins across 10 different networks, Voltic chooses one robust network to ensure the best possible user experience.

  • full self custody No one can control your account but YOU ,Send anywhere anytime you want to Anyone around the world .

The smart contract

Each wallet is controlled by VolticSmartWallet.sol, deployed on Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Sepolia. The safety rules are enforced on-chain, not just in the app:

  • Spending limits: the contract rejects payments above the owner's limit, so a stolen phone can't drain the wallet.

  • Kill switch: the owner can freeze the wallet, which blocks payments until it's unfrozen.

  • EIP-712 signed payments with nonces: each signed payment is typed data that can only be used once, which prevents replay.

Status and what's next

Voltic is an early-stage beta and the contract hasn't been audited yet. Planned: sub-wallets (a card or trusted person with a daily limit and recoverable funds), account abstraction, and optional stealth addresses. Since there are very few users so far, new contract versions can ship as a clean redeploy with upgraded methods.

Progress During Hackathon

Voltic existed before the buildathon (self-custodial NFC/QR wallet on Arbitrum with its own smart contract). During the buildathon I made it more reliable and easier to use, in two releases: 0.4-beta: better handling of network/RPC failures with clear error messages, offline mode with per-wallet cached balances, better stability on older Android, and a reworked Solidity build flow (Foundry dependencies install automatically, OpenZeppelin v5.7.0 support). 0.4.1-beta: payments now wait for on-chain confirmation and check the receipt before showing success, with new "Transaction sent!" and "Payment received!" screens, NFC/QR payment detection, and clearer ETH/USD amounts. Next: a clean redeploy of the contract with upgraded methods, then sub-wallets, account abstraction, and optional stealth addresses. The new build flow makes redeploying quick and repeatable.
