Diaspora capital is an important but underutilised source of productive investment across African and Caribbean markets. The intent to invest back home exists, and significant capital already moves across borders through remittances and family support. What is missing is a trusted access layer that makes high-quality regional opportunities easier to discover, understand and access.
WAHH is building that layer. Our ambition is to use Web3 infrastructure to reduce the operational friction surrounding cross-border investment while improving transparency across eligibility, pooled commitments, settlement, ownership and redemption. We are starting with diaspora investors as our initial trust and distribution network, while designing the platform for any eligible investor seeking exposure to carefully selected African and Caribbean assets.
For the Arbitrum Open House Singapore buildathon, in partnership with Robinhood Chain, we are demonstrating a simulated tokenised Kenyan Treasury bill. Users can browse the opportunity, review its return, maturity, currency and risks in plain English, commit a small amount through a pooled funding model and track the position through to redemption.
The consumer experience is designed to feel like a mainstream fintech app. The Web3 architecture works beneath the surface: permissioned eligibility, escrow, pool state, attestation, claim issuance and redemption are enforced through smart contracts on Robinhood Chain testnet. The underlying Treasury bill, execution partner and auction are simulated for this build; WAHH does not hold custody or directly convert fiat.
This prototype demonstrates the first wedge of a broader platform for trusted, transparent access to high-quality African and Caribbean investments.
