Description
Yilnes is a Principal Protection Layer for the Mantle ecosystem that solves DeFi’s "Cold Start" safety problem. We enable users to earn institutional-grade yields on $USDY (Ondo US Dollar Yield) with a unique Upfront Premium Model that guarantees immediate safety liquidity from Day 1.
The Problem: Most RWA yield aggregators rely on "Post-Yield Taxation" (taking 10% of future profits) to build an insurance fund. This leaves early adopters 100% exposed—if a hack occurs in the first month, the reserve is empty.
The Solution: Yilnes flips the model. Instead of taxing uncertain future profits, we charge a small, time-based premium at the moment of deposit (e.g., for 90 days of cover).
Immediate Solvency: Premiums flow instantly into the Safety Reserve, ensuring funds are available to cover losses from the very first block.
100% Yield Retention: Because users pay for safety upfront, they keep 100% of the generated RWA yield.
Flexible Risk: Users can choose between "Premium Mode" (Protected) or "Direct Mode" (0% fees, max capital efficiency) via a gamified Time Slider UI.
Built entirely on Mantle, Yilnes leverages $USDY as the base asset and $mETH for the reserve, creating a secure, yield-bearing gateway for the next generation of DeFi investors.
Progress During Hackathon
We built Yilnes from 0 to 1 during the hackathon timeline. Our specific achievements include: Smart Contracts (Mantle Sepolia): Developed and deployed YilnesVault.sol: The core engine handling Upfront Premium math, cover duration logic, and principal tracking. Implemented MockUSDY.sol: A fully ERC-20 compliant simulation of Ondo’s Yield Token to demonstrate yield accrual mechanics on testnet. Created MockStrategies (Ondo, Maple, Centrifuge) to simulate RWA yield sources and test the aggregation logic. Frontend & UX: Built a responsive Next.js + Wagmi dApp from scratch. Designed the "Time-Based Coverage Slider", a novel UI pattern that visualizes the relationship between "Time" and "Risk Cost" in real-time. Integrated Recharts for an institutional-grade Portfolio Dashboard, splitting user views into "Insured" vs. "Uninsured" positions. Integration: Successfully wired the frontend to read Dynamic APY directly from the smart contracts rather than hardcoded values. Implemented a custom Polling Hook to visualize real-time yield accrual (watching profits tick up second-by-second).
