Description

The Problem

Industrial manufacturing and high-risk facility environments face severe safety compliance challenges:

  • High rates of workplace accidents caused by unauthorized or uncertified machine operation.

  • Outdated static SOP manuals that operators rarely consult during high-risk tasks.

  • Delayed response times to critical telemetry anomalies (e.g., pressure spikes or overheating).

The Solution: SafeOps.ai

SafeOps.ai unifies compliance tracking, IoT monitoring, and generative AI risk evaluation into a single operational interface:

  • AI Task Safety Evaluator: Analyzes proposed tasks against active machine telemetry, worker certifications, and procedure requirements to output a dynamic Safety Score and go/no-go recommendation.

  • Dynamic SOP & Machine Assignment: Manages procedure guidelines, PPE requirements, hazard levels, and binds specific SOPs directly to equipment.

  • Worker Certification Engine: Tracks operator clearance levels, certification validity, and expiration dates to prevent unauthorized access.

  • IoT Telemetry & Threshold Guards: Logs bulk sensor data (Temperature, Pressure, Vibration, Toxic Gas) with configurable threshold min/max limits for instant anomaly detection.

  • Incident & Safety Issue Management: Real-time ticketing for equipment defects and safety violations with urgency levels and resolution tracking.

Progress During Hackathon

Key Milestones Achieved:

  • Architecture Setup & Core Stack:
    Built a full-stack Web application using React (Vite), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and an Express RESTful API server.

  • IoT & Real-Time Telemetry Engine:

    • Implemented real-time sensor data simulation & ingestion (TEMPERATURE, PRESSURE, VIBRATION, TOXIC_GAS).

    • Built dynamic threshold configuration (GET/POST /api/v1/sensors/machine/{id}/ranges) and bulk telemetry logging (POST /api/v1/sensors/log/bulk) with automated anomaly detection.

  • Digital SOP & Safety Compliance Module:

    • Integrated interactive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) execution modal with step-by-step sign-offs, PPE verification, and hazard alerts.

    • Added SOP lifecycle management, including assignment/unassignment (DELETE /api/v1/machines/{id}/sops/{procedure_id}) and SOP deletion endpoints.

  • Worker Clearance & Certification Engine:

    • Developed worker safety profile tracking and certification clearance validator.

    • Added worker certification assignment endpoint (POST /api/v1/certifications/worker/) with active/expired status tracking.

  • Incident & Issue Escalation:

    • Created complete incident reporting modal, severity matrix, and real-time machine lock/flagging mechanisms.
