Cuckoo: Web3 Entry App for Massive Adoption
As of early December 2024, the global population is 6.9 billion, but only 500 million people hold cryptocurrencies, which accounts for just 7%. The remaining 93% of people are blocked from engaging with Web3 due to its complex concepts, leading to a lack of intent to participate. The massive adoption of Web3 has long been discussed but never fully realized. In our view, AI agents can significantly lower the barriers for users to understand and use Web3, fostering the intent to engage with it. Therefore, we see a huge opportunity to create an easy-to-use Web3 entry app powered by AI agents.
Our product features a cuckoo bird as its mascot, allowing new users to communicate directly with this virtual pet. The app includes features such as a Tutorial, Cucupedia, Cuckoo Pets, Cuckoo Mentor, and Friends & Circles. Through a series of simple chats, users can quickly grasp the concepts and usage of Web3. With natural language-based features for Swap and Transaction, users can interact with the Web3 financial network in a way that feels more intuitive and human-friendly. Interactive lessons also offer a more engaging experience compared to traditional, repetitive quests.
As a bridge between Web2 and Web3, we aim to provide users with the best onboarding experience while also collaborating with various Web3 projects for content recommendations, distribution, and partnerships, including Web3 games, NFTs, communities, and tools. In the near term, we hope to use AI for crypto to support massive adoption and build an ecosystem and community based on the Ai16z Eliza framework. In the long run, we aspire to use crypto for AI, leveraging the early consensus established in Web3 to provide better content and data for AI, ultimately transforming the content and education industries in the traditional world.
We started from scratch and developed the Cuckoo Demo App as a Chrome extension, featuring a range of rich demo functionalities. For the Eliza component, we forked a version and integrated our own app routing into the client-direct. Additionally, we created a new plugin, **plugin-cuckoo**, which implements custom Eliza actions such as **Lecture (L2E)** and **Evaluator x 2** (for Personality + Cognition), among others.
