MediGo

MediGo is an app designed to provide ambulances to people in an emergency situation, the app works in a similar way to Ola and Uber where users can order an ambulance and the nearest ambulance driver will be alerted about the emergency and directed towards it. The app aims to solve the issue of slow response times of ambulances in critical situations and often life threatening situations. We aim to create a comprehensive app that connects individuals directly with ambulances instead of having long wait periods on helpline numbers. We arrived at this problem statement as a result of the realisation that ambulance services are very poor compared to the rest of the world. Instead of using the hospital appointed ambulances our app is developed to connect the people directly with private ambulances. These private ambulances can also be used to transport blood, medicine, and organs. Thus making it a valuable resource that is not being used right now. We also aim to reduce organ delivery time by setting up a relay system where drivers will switch during the transportation process to make the transportation smooth and quicker thus we can count out the middle men and improve speed and efficiency.

Finally, we also aim to solve the problem of unavailability of beds in hospitals by allowing hospitals to declare how many beds they have available. Our app also incorporated innovative solutions such as working with google maps to divert traffic away from the ambulances both to and from an emergency, to further reduce response times. Our app also mitigates ambulance costs as most ambulances charge on the basis of the severity of the case but having a centralised app elevates that problemThe average response time for ambulances in india is 25-30 minutes, we aim to reduce this to 10-12 minutes, the time saved can be detrimental and be the deciding factor between life and death. This app does not come from a profit oriented point of view, we aim to change the health services in india.
