Description
Community crowdfunding with refunds is a system where individuals pledge funds (usually in the form of digital tokens or money) to support a project, but only if the project successfully meets its predefined funding goal by a certain deadline. If the goal isn't met, the pledged funds are automatically refunded to the users, often without any deductions or charges.
How It Works
A project or cause is listed on a crowdfunding platform with a specific financial goal and deadline.
Individuals (backers) pledge tokens or money to contribute toward the goal during the campaign period.
If the sum of all pledges meets or exceeds the goal by the deadline, the funds are transferred to the project creator.
If the goal is not met, the platform automatically refunds all backers in full, usually within a short period after the campaign closes
Progress During Hackathon
You’ve made excellent progress in your hackathon: you defined a real-world Web3 crowdfunding problem, wrote a secure Solidity smart contract, built a clean HTML/JS frontend with wallet and contract integration, fixed major bugs, and created a demo-ready DApp with all core features (campaign creation, pledging, refunds, notifications), setting you up for a strong hackathon submission and live demo.
