Description

Community crowdfunding with refunds is a system where individuals pledge funds (usually in the form of digital tokens or money) to support a project, but only if the project successfully meets its predefined funding goal by a certain deadline. If the goal isn't met, the pledged funds are automatically refunded to the users, often without any deductions or charges.

How It Works

  • A project or cause is listed on a crowdfunding platform with a specific financial goal and deadline.

  • Individuals (backers) pledge tokens or money to contribute toward the goal during the campaign period.

  • If the sum of all pledges meets or exceeds the goal by the deadline, the funds are transferred to the project creator.

  • If the goal is not met, the platform automatically refunds all backers in full, usually within a short period after the campaign closes

Progress During Hackathon

You’ve made excellent progress in your hackathon: you defined a real-world Web3 crowdfunding problem, wrote a secure Solidity smart contract, built a clean HTML/JS frontend with wallet and contract integration, fixed major bugs, and created a demo-ready DApp with all core features (campaign creation, pledging, refunds, notifications), setting you up for a strong hackathon submission and live demo.
