IT Assistant
Job Summary:
The IT Assistant provides first-level technical support, ensures smooth operation of all IT systems, and assists in maintaining hardware, software, networks, and digital tools used across all branches. The role supports daily operations by troubleshooting issues, maintaining IT assets, and ensuring data security and system reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide first-level support for hardware, software, POS systems, and network concerns.
- Diagnose and resolve issues such as login errors, connectivity problems, printer malfunctions, and system slowdowns.
- Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the IT Head or external service providers.
2. Hardware & Software Maintenance
- Install, configure, and update computers, laptops, printers, routers, CCTV systems, and other IT equipment.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in installing and updating operating systems, applications, and security patches.
3. Network & Systems Support
- Monitor network connectivity and report outages or irregularities.
- Assist in maintaining Wi-Fi, LAN, and VPN connections across branches.
- Support user account creation, access management, and system permissions.
4. Asset Management & Inventory
- Maintain an updated inventory of all IT equipment and accessories.
- Tag, document, and track IT assets for audit and compliance.
- Inspect returned equipment and coordinate repair, replacement, or disposal.
5. Data Security & Compliance
- Assist in implementing cybersecurity protocols, including password policies and access controls.
- Support the IT Head in conducting basic security checks and system audits.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of company data.
6. User Assistance & Training
- Provide basic training to employees on system use, email setup, POS operation, and safe IT practices.
- Assist new employees with account setup and system access.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs of IT issues, resolutions, and equipment movement.
- Prepare simple reports on recurring problems, system performance, and inventory status.
- Assist in preparing audit-ready documentation for IT processes.
8. Branch Operations Support
- Provide on-site support during system outages, POS failures, or network interruptions.
- Assist in IT setup for new branches, renovations, or relocations.
9. Coordination & Administrative Support
- Coordinate with suppliers for repairs, replacements, and technical services.
- Assist the IT Head in planning IT upgrades, improvements, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Support cross-department needs requiring IT assistance (Operations, HR, Finance).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in IT support or technical assistance (preferred but not required for entry-level).
- Basic knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, networking, and software installation.
- Familiarity with POS systems, CCTV, and branch-based operations is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to operational needs.
- Willing to travel to different branches as needed.
