World Cup Oracle

Tagline

On-chain World Cup predictions, funded from any chain, with AI analysis you pay for by the request.

Full description

World Cup Oracle is a prediction market for World Cup matches built natively on Injective. Users stake USDC on match outcomes into a transparent, pari-mutuel pool — no house odds, no custodian, winners split the losing side's stake proportionally once the match is settled on-chain.

Two real frictions shaped the design. First, most prediction platforms trap you on one chain — if your USDC lives on Ethereum or Base, getting it into an Injective-native pool usually means a manual bridge. We solved this with CCTP, letting USDC move natively from any supported chain straight into the market. Second, informed match analysis is usually either free-and-shallow or locked behind a full subscription, when most fans just want a sharp read on one game. We solved this with x402 micropayments — AI-generated match analysis (form, key matchups, a reasoned prediction) unlocks for $0.05 per match, paid instantly in USDC, no account needed.

Tech stack

  • Smart contract: Solidity, deployed on Injective EVM testnet — handles staking, match lifecycle (open → locked → settled), and proportional payout logic

  • Payments: Injective's x402 protocol for per-request micropayments gating AI analysis

  • Cross-chain funding: Circle's CCTP for native USDC transfer into Injective from other chains

  • AI analysis: Claude API, generating match previews on unlock

  • Backend: Node.js / Express

  • Frontend: Next.js, deployed on Vercel

  • Backend hosting: Render

What's real vs. scoped for the hackathon

  • Match settlement is admin-triggered based on real-world results, not a fully decentralized oracle — building a trustless sports oracle is a substantial project on its own

  • CCTP is implemented and testable via the included scripts; [not yet wired into the live UI's staking flow / or: shown live in the demo — adjust based on final state]

  • Match data (teams, kickoff times, initial odds display) is currently seeded rather than pulled from a live sports data API

Progreso del hackathon

Hackathon Progress Summary

  • Architected Full-Stack Framework: Successfully engineered a Web3 pay-per-view sports prediction marketplace called World Cup Oracle using an Express backend and a clean Vercel frontend deployment.

  • Implemented Gas-Optimized Paywall: Built an innovative, off-chain signature-gated data pipeline inspired by x402 monetization standards. This enables users to securely unlock premium data using free cryptographic wallet signatures instead of high-gas on-chain transactions.

  • Integrated Frontier AI Agent: Developed an autonomous sports analytics agent powered by Gemini, capable of instantly delivering contextual, deep tactical match breakdowns and expected goals ($xG$) predictions upon signature validation.

  • Refined UI/UX & Documentation: Designed a responsive multi-card interface for upcoming marquee matches and polished the technical README.md repository documentation for the hackathon judging panel.
