Description

Job Summary

  • Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for various applications and services.
  • Collaborate with scrum team product owners, developers, business analysts, and testers to gather information, enhance understanding of updates and user needs, and ensure accuracy of documentation.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Research effectively and efficiently using various resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update configuration guides, implementation guides, and release notes.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to understand product functionality and user needs.
  • Research code changes, database updates, technical specifications, existing documentation, system functionality, etc. to understand updates and better communicate the changes made.
  • Ensure documentation meets quality standards and is consistent with company branding and style guidelines.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve documentation.
  • Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Technical Writing/Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years technical writing experience, preferably in the technology or software industry.
  • English language fluency.

Skills And Competencies

  • Excellent Writing Skills: Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and accurate documentation for a variety of audiences. Experience with and understanding of single sourcing principles and use in documentation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Understanding of software development processes, programming languages, and technical concepts.
  • Tools and Software: Proficiency with the following tools:
  • Atlassian Confluence
  • Atlassian Jira
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Azure DevOps Services
  • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Microsoft Visio
  • Image capturing tools
  • Research Skills: Proven ability to gather information from various sources, including requirements, test plans, database and developer code review, and subject matter experts.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong proofreading and editing skills to ensure error free documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to hear, accept, and apply constructive criticism and feedback.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of HTML, SQL, and other web technologies.
  • Familiarity with content management systems.
  • Experience in creating Software Development documents including configuration guides, implementation guides, and release notes.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical concepts.
