About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Webzoid System Solutions Corporation.

As a Senior Backend Developer, you must be well-versed in Python/Django development to help develop our client-facing platform. You will also play a crucial role in building the process and expertise of the new development team.

What you'll be doing

• Architect, design, and implement scalable backend systems using Python and Django
• Lead backend development initiatives from concept to deployment
• Design and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs (Django REST Framework)
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity
• Implement secure coding practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Guide technical decisions around system architecture and scalability
• Lead code reviews and enforce high-quality coding standards
• Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing your expertise and best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, DevOps, product, and stakeholders
• Drive improvements in CI/CD, observability, logging, and monitoring
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, performance issues, and technical debt

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience
• Advanced proficiency in Python
• Strong hands-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework
• Proven experience designing scalable, production-grade systems
• Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Strong knowledge of REST API design principles
• Experience with caching (Redis/Memcached)
• Experience with asynchronous processing (Celery, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2)
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Strong experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines
