JOB SUMMARY:
The Market Data Analyst is responsible for the systematic collection, processing, and analysis of market and sales data to support strategic and operational decision-making. The position applies principles of mathematics, statistics, and data science to conduct market research, perform regression analysis, and evaluate sales trends, to generate reliable forecasts and actionable business insights.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Data Management
• Collects, consolidates, and validates data from internal and external sources.
• Maintains structured databases ensuring accuracy, integrity, and completeness of data.
• Develops and updates data repositories and reporting systems.
2. Market Research
• Conducts quantitative market research and analysis on industry trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities.
• Interprets research findings to support business planning and strategy formulation.
• Monitors market developments and identifies emerging opportunities and risks.
3. Statistical Analysis
• Applies statistical methods, including descriptive and inferential analysis.
• Performs regression analysis to determine relationships between key business variables.
• Develops predictive models to support decision-making processes.
4. Sales Analysis and Forecasting
• Analyzes historical sales data to identify patterns, seasonality, and performance drivers.
• Prepares sales forecasts using statistical and data science techniques.
• Provides insights on factors influencing sales performance and recommends corrective actions.
5. Reporting and Visualization
• Prepares periodic and ad hoc analytical reports.
• Develops dashboards and visual presentations to communicate data insights effectively.
• Ensures clarity, accuracy, and relevance of reports submitted to management.
6. Stakeholder Support
• Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, and other departments in data-driven initiatives.
• Provides analytical inputs for pricing strategies, marketing campaigns, and business expansion plans.
• Supports management in performance evaluation and strategic decision-making.
COMPLEXITY OF WORK
Knowledge and Skills
• Strong foundation in statistical analysis and quantitative methods
• Proficiency in regression analysis and forecasting techniques
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data management tools
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R is preferred
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage
JOB SPECIFICATION
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or related discipline
2. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in data analysis, market research, or business analytics.
3. Proven ability to manage multiple urgent tasks and meet deadlines.
4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
5. Effective written and verbal communication skills
