About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to join our growing remote team.


This role is ideal for someone who already has foundational experience with Microsoft Azure and wants to continue building their career in modern data engineering, automation, analytics, and reporting systems.


Experience with Microsoft Fabric is considered a strong advantage but is not required.

You will assist in building and maintaining data pipelines, integrating business systems, preparing datasets for reporting, and supporting cloud-based data environments used for dashboards, automation, and business intelligence solutions.


You’ll work alongside senior team members while gaining hands-on experience across real business projects.


Working Arrangement

  • Fully Remote
  • Independent Contractor Position
  • Australian company with a Philippines-friendly setup
  • Working hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM Philippine Time (or flexible with Australian overlap)
  • Starting as part-time with strong potential to grow into full-time
  • Long-term opportunity for the right person


Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL workflows
  • Support Azure-based data environments
  • Work with structured and unstructured business data
  • Help prepare datasets for dashboards and reporting tools such as Power BI
  • Monitor data quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and assist with optimisation
  • Work with APIs, cloud storage, and database connections
  • Support automation workflows and integrations between business systems
  • Document processes and maintain organised development standards
  • Collaborate with internal team members on analytics and reporting projects


Required Skills & Experience

  • Basic to intermediate experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Understanding of databases and SQL fundamentals
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL concepts, or data transformation
  • Experience working with Excel, CSV, APIs, or cloud-based data sources
  • Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently in a remote setup
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation


Nice to Have

  • Exposure to or experience using Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Exposure to Python, SQL Server, or BigQuery
  • Familiarity with Power Automate, n8n, Zapier, or automation tools
  • Experience with GitHub or version control
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • Exposure to API integrations or cloud automation workflows
