Work Details

• Full-time employment; Direct hire

• Hybrid (2–3x a week) in any Manila office (Taguig or QC)

• Regular business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM MNL), with flexibility to adjust start time based on business needs

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our client in the Philippines. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications and systems using various programming languages and tools. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in mainframe development and a strong understanding of the job market context in the Philippines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications and systems using COBOL, Assembler, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other programming languages and tools

• Design and implement solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers

• Collaborate with other teams, including business analysts, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure successful project delivery

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities

• Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner

• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe development

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• 3–17 years of experience in mainframe development

• Strong knowledge of COBOL, Assembler, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe programming languages and tools

• Experience working with mainframe systems such as z/OS, IMS, and VSAM

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus

• Experience in the banking industry is preferred
