Job Summary
Responsible for the financial and control aspects of the company with the objective of implementing the overall growth strategy of the businesses, managing risks, ensuring compliance with company guidelines/standards and government regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Management: Participates in the development, consolidation, reporting and implementation of the Annual Plan /Budget in order to set target and objectives. Provides financial advice (qualitative & quantitative), financial analysis, feasibility assessments as required. Performs financial modeling and cost benefit analyses as required on new initiatives proposed by the Company.
2. Performance Analysis & Reporting: Gathers, processes and consolidates financial information into an orderly presentation in order to capture planned results of the Company. Reviews actual performance vs. performance standards using analytical tools & processes; recommends and evaluates corrective measures & actions to bridge performance gaps.
3. Control: Implements Corporate policies, compliance to government regulations and GAAP to ensure protection of Company assets, and compliance with government requirements.
4. Cash: Manages cash, investment and banking relationships to ensure cash availability, optimum return on financial assets; and adequately manage currency risks.
5. General Ledger: Monitors and coordinates integrity and reliability of the general ledger vis-à-vis other system modules to ensure accuracy of financial results of the Company.
6. Operational Audit: Undertakes required operational compliance tests; review existing systems and procedures to ensure that effective business controls are in place. Applicable to all businesses.
7. Quality Improvement: Identifies areas for improvement in order to improve process flow and communication, reduce bottlenecks in processing business documents, and ensure effective business controls.
8. People Management: Selects, trains, motivates, evaluates and retains staff in order to ensure achievement of unit objectives.
9. Others: Performs other functions that may be required by the Finance Director in support of the Stores’ and HOO Departments’ requirements.
Performance Indicators:
1. Days to complete month-end procedures;
2. Days to submit financial statements to management, including, but not limited to, margin and OPEX analyses;
3. Frequency of discussions with Business Unit Heads regarding financial performance;
4. Balance Sheet schedules must be reviewed and submitted by the 15th of the following month;
5. Value of cost reductions made;
6. Number of process improvements suggested and implemented;
7. Employee turnover in the team and leadership development initiatives
Qualifications:
1. Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, preferably a Certified Public Accountant;
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience
3. Has strong analytical and numerical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail;
4. Can make sense of financial data and is able to give recommendations based on analysis;
5. Has proven experience and ability to work under tight deadlines with a drive for results;
6. Has command of both technology and finance issues;
7. Has good judgment and decision-making skills;
8. Assertive; has the confidence and ability to implement internal systems and controls;
9. Confident especially in challenging decisions that are not in the Company’s best interests;
10. Has good written and oral communication skills in English and Filipino and has the ability to communicate complex information effectively; has good presentation skills;
