We are looking for a highly analytical and strategic Strategy professional to join our team and support strategic initiatives, market research, investment analysis, and the development of our Web3 ecosystem.
Role Overview
As a Strategy professional at YZi Labs, you will work closely with the leadership and cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities, analyze emerging markets and technologies, evaluate strategic initiatives, and support decision-making across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking with a solid understanding of Web3, blockchain, technology markets, and venture capital.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis across Web3, blockchain, AI, and emerging technology sectors.
- Analyze industry trends, market opportunities, business models, and competitive landscapes.
- Support the evaluation of potential investments, partnerships, and strategic opportunities.
- Develop strategic frameworks, financial models, market analyses, and business cases.
- Prepare investment and strategy materials, presentations, and internal reports for senior management.
- Monitor portfolio companies, projects, and relevant ecosystem developments.
- Identify emerging narratives, technologies, protocols, and market opportunities within Web3.
- Work with investment, business development, marketing, and research teams on strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate potential partnerships and ecosystem opportunities.
- Develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative research.
- Track key market and business metrics and provide regular strategic insights.
- Assist with strategic planning and execution of new initiatives.
- Conduct due diligence and research on companies, protocols, products, and founders when required.
- Translate complex market and technical information into clear strategic insights.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, investment banking, venture capital, investment research, business development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Web3, blockchain, crypto markets, and emerging technologies.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong ability to conduct independent research and synthesize large amounts of information.
- Strong business judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to create clear presentations, reports, and strategic analyses.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international, and remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Web3, crypto, venture capital, technology, or investment-related organization.
- Experience conducting investment or commercial due diligence.
- Familiarity with DeFi, infrastructure, Layer 1/Layer 2 ecosystems, stablecoins, AI, or other emerging blockchain sectors.
- Experience with financial modeling and valuation.
- Strong understanding of tokenomics and crypto market dynamics.
- Experience working with founders, investors, protocols, or technology companies.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and presentation tools.
- Existing knowledge of major Web3 ecosystems and market participants.
- Additional language skills, particularly Chinese, are a plus.
