Hospi_Blocks

The Hospi_Blocks project addresses critical challenges in healthcare systems, including data privacy, interoperability, and trust, through the integration of blockchain technology. By establishing a secure and decentralized platform, patient data is reliably stored and accessible solely by authorized entities. The registration process creates a unique blockchain entry using verified identification, eliminating duplicate records and enhancing data integrity. Medical records and other sensitive information are stored using IPFS, with their hashes secured on the blockchain, ensuring efficient handling of large datasets. Smart contracts facilitate secure authentication and data access management, while role-based access controls provide tailored permissions for healthcare providers, admins, and insurers. Technologies employed include Next.js and TypeScript for the frontend, Node.js and MongoDB for the backend, and Ethereum for blockchain operations, all fortified by OAuth2 and biometric verification for robust authentication. This innovative approach fosters a secure, scalable, and interoperable healthcare ecosystem, empowering patients and healthcare professionals alike.
