Exchequer lets any crypto project issue preferred tokens. A preferred token is a volatile token with downside cover attached.

Description

Tokens are how crypto projects raises capital, and bootstraps solving the cold start problem.

What a project needs most from its holders is time. Bitcoin and Ethereum were carried by people who held through years of volatility and became evangelists along the way. But they launched when there was little else competing for attention, so their holders had few reasons to leave.

Today every token competes with thousands of others, and most holders are yield seekers and speculators who move on at the first drawdown. Creating long-term holders now has to be deliberate.

Exchequer is built to do that. Any project can issue a preferred token: its own token with downside cover attached, so holding through a downturn no longer means carrying the loss alone.

Liquidity Preferred is the first preferred token in crypto. A holder buys in with dollars, and the project pairs them with an equal value of its own tokens to create a liquidity pool. That pool does two jobs: it becomes the token's trading liquidity, and it is the collateral for the holder's cover. For a set period, the holder keeps the token's full upside, paid in the token from a reserve the project sets aside. If the price falls, the holder receives the pool collateral, worth what they paid, even after a 75% fall.

The project gets protocol-owned liquidity, and its cost is capped at the tokens it deposits and reserves. Nothing is minted, and any dollars in a payout are the holder's own. Liquidity Preferred has been deployed on Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum One testnets.

Progress During Hackathon

During the buildathon we converted Exchequer's full contract suite and deployment system to Robinhood Chain, and deployed release v1-5-5 to Robinhood Chain testnet on 27 September. We also moved our frontend from a mock-data prototype on Ethereum Sepolia to an Arbitrum-first app running on live on-chain data. Liquidity Preferred now runs on Robinhood Chain testnet and Arbitrum Sepolia, with mainnet planned on Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum One. In the app, each preferred token is called a note. In the contracts, Liquidity Preferred is issued through the [PGT / LPN] Builder.

Deployed release v1-5-5 to Robinhood Chain testnet on 27 September. It has two builder contracts, which issuers call to create a preferred token, and four factories that the builders use behind them. Rebuilt the deployment system for two chains ([chain IDs, signing domains, per-chain config]). One command now deploys the full suite to either chain.

Arbitrum Sepolia by default. Visitors now see 112 live testnet notes on tokens such as ARB, GMX, LDO and PENDLE, where before they saw four ended Ethereum notes (#205, #206).

Charts are drawn from real on-chain price history instead of a mock series, and show nothing rather than invented data when history is short (#190, #196, #199).

The full lifecycle from both sides: issuer setup and end-of-term payout steps with transaction links (#181, #194, #195); buyer note details and claimable fees, tested against real on-chain notes (#180, #189); whitelists and spending caps (#172).

Buy and approve decisions use exact on-chain integer amounts, not floating-point maths (#187).
