Description

Playo is a skill-based onchain mini-game arcade built on Mantle, designed to make GameFi fair, simple, and engaging for real players. The platform features short, casual games that test memory, reflexes, and focus, with outcomes determined entirely by player performance.

Players stake MNT to enter challenges, and rewards are distributed proportionally based on how well they play, with clear caps to ensure fairness and prevent exploitation. There are no luck-based mechanics, cashout systems, or hidden odds. Every game follows the same transparent reward framework, making the experience easy to understand while still offering meaningful depth and replayability.

Playo is built with a modular architecture, allowing new skill-based games to be added easily while reusing the same staking and reward logic. By combining casual gameplay with onchain settlement and fair reward mechanics, Playo demonstrates how GameFi can move beyond speculation and toward genuine player engagement within the Mantle ecosystem.

Progress During Hackathon

During the hackathon, I designed and built Playo, a skill-based onchain mini-game arcade on Mantle. The project includes a shared reward framework using proportional, capped payouts to ensure fair, skill-based outcomes. I implemented multiple casual games focusing on different skills: Flippo, a memory matching game with limited flips and proportional rewards; Tappo, a reflex and accuracy game with time-based difficulty and performance scoring; and Simono, a sequential memory game where only the new signal is highlighted each round, requiring players to recall and repeat the full sequence without hints. I also developed and deployed smart contracts on Mantle to handle staking and reward settlement, built an optimized frontend with a neo-brutalism theme, and integrated wallets using RainbowKit, wagmi, and viem for smooth user onboarding. All games avoid luck-based mechanics and cashout systems, keeping gameplay fully skill-driven, and the platform is structured for easy extension with additional skill-based games. By the end of the hackathon, Playo reached a functional demo stage with playable games, clear rules, and a consistent onchain reward model.
