PractoTrade predicts stock trends by analyzing real-time sentiment from Twitter, Reddit, and news—helping people trade smarter by understanding the market’s mood.
Retail investors lack access to reliable, real-time tools that combine market data and sentiment analysis to forecast stock prices accurately. Existing solutions often ignore the impact of public sentiment or rely solely on historical data, leading to suboptimal predictions.
This project addresses the need for a hybrid, data-driven prediction system that uses both technical indicators (OHLC data) and daily sentiment analysis to predict the future closing price of stocks, helping investors make better-informed decisions.
During the hackathon, our team made significant progress in a short amount of time. We began by outlining the core features of our project and setting up the development environment. Once the structure was in place, we divided the tasks efficiently, focusing on backend development, frontend design, and integrating APIs or machine learning models where needed. As the hours progressed, we built and refined key functionalities, tested our system thoroughly, and worked on optimizing the user experience. Despite the tight deadline, we successfully developed a working prototype, learned a lot through hands-on problem-solving, and collaborated effectively as a team throughout the event.
