Description
Managing campus life—events, notices, and student grievances—is often a fragmented and opaque process. Student Hub solves this by leveraging Mantle’s high-performance Layer 2 infrastructure to create a single, transparent dashboard for the students.
Key Features:
On-Chain Grievance Portal (DAO): Students use $SHT (Student Hub Tokens) to create proposals and vote on campus issues. This ensures that every vote is immutable and verifiable on the Mantle network.
Decentralized Community Feed & Notices: Official updates and student notices are stored on-chain through the DCHEvents contract, ensuring information integrity and preventing unauthorized tampering.
Automated Event Management: A seamless interface for students to discover and register for campus events, with all registration data handled via smart contracts.
Tokenized Economy ($SHT): An ERC-20 utility token that represents "Voting Power" within the ecosystem. The system includes a built-in faucet for easy onboarding and an admin minting function for merit-based token distribution.
Future Roadmap
ZK-Privacy for Grievances: Implementing Zero-Knowledge proofs (like Semaphore) to allow students to file grievances and vote anonymously while still proving they are authorized students.
IPFS Integration: Moving all notice and event attachments to IPFS/Filecoin to ensure the entire data stack—not just the logic—is decentralized.
On-Chain Rewards: Implementing a "Contribution Reward" system where students earn $SHT for participating in events or getting their grievances resolved, creating a circular campus economy.
Multi-Role Governance: Adding different tiers of voting power for student representatives, faculty, and administrative staff to better reflect real campus hierarchies.
Why Mantle?
We chose Mantle because its modular architecture allows for the high transaction throughput required for a campus-wide application. By utilizing Mantle's low gas fees, we ensure that students can participate in governance (voting and proposing) without financial barriers, making true decentralized democracy accessible to everyone on campus.
