Description

Abstract

Universal Arbitrum Kit is a cross-chain intent forwarding infrastructure built on Arbitrum Network. It enables developers to deploy applications once on Arbitrum while allowing users from any blockchain to interact with them seamlessly. By abstracting away network switching, bridging, and multi-chain deployments, Universal App Kit positions Arbitrum as the single execution and settlement layer for universal decentralized applications.

Architecture

1. Introduction

The multi-chain ecosystem has unlocked scalability and choice, but at the cost of user experience fragmentation and developer complexity. Users are required to switch networks, bridge assets, and manage multiple wallets, while developers must deploy, maintain, and secure applications across many chains.

Universal Arbitrum Kit addresses this problem by introducing a chain-agnostic interaction model, where users interact from their native chains, but application logic executes and settles exclusively on Arbitrum Network.

Intent-Based Execution Model

The core innovation behind Universal Arbitrum Kit is the intent-based execution model.

Traditional cross-chain systems require bridging assets and replicating state across multiple chains. Universal Arbitrum Kit eliminates this complexity by treating external chains purely as input layers rather than execution environments.

Users do not directly execute application logic on their local chain. Instead, they submit intents describing what they want to do. These intents are then forwarded and executed on Arbitrum where liquidity, application state, and settlement remain unified.

This creates several important advantages. Liquidity fragmentation disappears because all assets and state remain consolidated on Arbitrum. Developers avoid multi-chain deployments because application logic exists only once. Users no longer need to understand blockchain infrastructure details such as bridges or network switching.

The result is a universal application architecture where Arbitrum becomes the backend execution engine for the multi-chain ecosystem.

The Problem

  • Users must switch networks in their wallet

  • Users need to bridge funds to destination chains

  • Complex UX with multiple transaction confirmations

  • High gas costs on multiple chains

    The Solution

  • No Network Switching - Users stay on their preferred chain

  • No Bridging Required - Gateway handles intent forwarding

  • Any Wallet - MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet, etc.

  • Normal Solidity - Write contracts as usual, no special logic needed

  • Universal Mezo Account - One smart account on Arbitrum for all external wallets

    Vision

Universal Arbitrum Kit redefines how decentralized applications are built and accessed. Instead of treating every blockchain as an independent execution environment, the system turns all chains into access layers while Arbitrum becomes the universal execution backend.

This architecture eliminates fragmentation, simplifies development, unifies liquidity, and dramatically improves user experience across the multi-chain ecosystem.

The long-term vision is to create a universal infrastructure layer where decentralized applications feel chainless to end users while remaining scalable, secure, and economically efficient for developers.

Progress During Hackathon

Progress During Buildathon * Designed and developed the core cross-chain intent architecture on Arbitrum * Built Gateway Contracts for capturing user intents from multiple source chains * Developed ArcExecutor contract for secure execution and settlement on Arbitrum * Implemented relayer infrastructure for monitoring events and forwarding intents * Added nonce-based replay protection and relayer authorization mechanisms * Deployed and tested contracts successfully on Arbitrum Sepolia testnet * Created complete SDK, architecture diagrams, transaction flows, and technical documentation for developers
