An on-chain adventure golf game built on Linea, combining gameplay with smart contract security and Solidity exploration
This Linea Speedrun golf game is more than just traditional golf—it introduces blockchain elements where players use a digital wallet and spend small amounts of ETH, alongside nominal gas fees, to take each shot. Players start by paying an entry fee known as the "Greens Fee" and then take shots by entering a shot value that represents a blockchain transaction. The goal is to commit accurate scores while adhering to golfing terms like Eagle, Birdie, Par, and Bogey, which reflect how close or far players are from achieving optimal shots.
The smart contract design of the game ensures that each shot and score is transparently recorded on the blockchain, allowing players to commit their scores and check their performance. Players are rewarded for accuracy, with the top performers having the opportunity to secure a spot in the SpeedRun Golf Hall of Fame.
In terms of finances, while the Greens Fee and gas costs are non-refundable, players can withdraw any unused balance at any point. The game encourages replayability, as players can reset and attempt to improve their score, aiming for the elusive 'Hole in One.'
SpeedRun Golf is not just a game—it's an educational journey into the world of blockchain, Ethereum, and decentralized applications, wrapped in a fun, competitive golfing experience. Whether you're a blockchain enthusiast or a curious gamer, Speedrun Golf offers an engaging way to explore the intricacies of smart contracts while enjoying a casual round of golf.
