Job Description:

This role is a CS Everywhere - Hybrid Work from Home and Office setup with unlimited access to Cloudstaff Offices when you need it. CS Everywhere includes Fiber Internet, Backup Internet, UPS, PC/Laptop. Ability to use the office when there are Internet or power issues or when client requires to be onsite. Pop in and have a coffee with teammates. 

We have an opportunity for a Senior Accountant for our client within their Client Advisory Services (CAS) department. This department provides business accounting services for the firm’s Accounting clients, including preparation of monthly financial statements, assistance with on-boarding (of clients) and conversions, performing detailed quality assurance checks for all clients and associates and communicates results to firm associates, ensuring the firm is proactively identifying opportunities and serving the client’s needs in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile major balance sheet accounts, in accordance with work scope, and prepare financial statements for client delivery.
  • Efficiently manage missing or incomplete information lists in conjunction with client deadlines
  • Communicate with job manager to discuss unusual items or variances noted
  • Identify efficiencies to be gained and additional client opportunities
  • Utilize PSA scheduling tool, time budgets, and client deadlines to determine work order prioritization throughout the month
  • Self-manage schedule and allow time for unforeseen circumstances such as review issues, associate training, missing information, client delays, etc.
  • Utilize critical thinking and outward mindset to both deliver service and collaborate with associates
  • Leverage other associates and administrative staff for back-office functions
  • Demonstrate curiosity to understand the client’s business operations and strategic goals. Prepare periodical financial statements for clients, ensure quality assurance with core accounting operations performed by the team
  • Perform compilation procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders.
  • Perform on-boarding of clients and conversion activities as directed by an on- boarding and conversion specialist.
  • Further develop technical competency with GAAP, various accounting software systems used to provide the accounting services, Participate in core CPE programs.
  • Communicate proactively with client, other firm associates regarding open items, problems, or other important matters in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to prescribed budgets and deadlines
  • To support Non-Profit, Governmental and Education industry

Additional Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence related to client engagements as appropriate.
  • Develop a familiarity with company service offerings with the intent of applying that knowledge towards identifying additional client opportunities.
  • Actively participate in community activities to develop positive relationships with community leaders and members.

Non-negotiable skills & requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CA / CPA (Certified Public Accountant)or any other equivalent degree.
  • Bill.com or Intacct certification is preferred but not required at the time of interview
  • At least 4 to 7 years of job-related experience in the public accounting field with an emphasis on U.S. GAAP accounting
  • Previous experience in US accounting roles at an accounting firm and BPO is also preferred, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint and Outlook and software applications: depreciation, document management systems and one or more accounting packages such as Bill.com,QBO, Intacct, MIP Abila, and Business Central, etc.
  • Should have a sound knowledge of software tools and systems
  • Active communicator and a great team player
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively
  • Ability to balance many projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to Analyze data and recommend solutions
  • Ability to identify, address and resolve client concerns

  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality, personal objectivity, and professional skepticism
  • Openness to travel - Occasional overnight travel may be required, and overseas travel will likely be required for approximately one week each year
