Project Manager - Scrum Master
I. About Project Manager - Scrum Master
The Project Manager - Scrum Master will be responsible for facilitating the agile process and overseeing the successful delivery of development projects. This role combines the strategic oversight of project management with the servant-leadership of a Scrum Master. You will be responsible for removing blockers, fostering a high-performing team culture, and ensuring that project goals are met within the specified timelines and quality standards.
II. Key Duties & Accountabilities
- Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution and closing.
- Act as a buffer between the development team and external distractions to maintain team focus and productivity.
- Assist the Product Owner in backlog grooming, prioritization, and maintaining a clear product roadmap.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress and potential delays.
- Monitor team velocity and capacity, using data-driven metrics to improve sprint predictability.
- Remove impediments or "blockers" that hinder the team’s progress toward sprint goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through effective retrospectives and the implementation of actionable feedback.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies and ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
- Provide transparent reporting on project health, budget adherence, and delivery timelines to senior management.
III. Minimum Hiring Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Scrum Master and Project Manager in a software development environment.
- Minimum of 3–5 years continuous experience.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is highly preferred.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is an advantage.
- Expert proficiency with Agile management tools, specifically Jira and Confluence.
- Strong understanding of various Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and traditional Waterfall methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field, Administration, or related field.
