A prediction marketplace, also known as a prediction market or event market, is a platform where participants can trade predictions about the outcome of future events. These platforms allow individuals to buy and sell shares in the likelihood of specific outcomes occurring, such as elections, sports results, or even business-related events like product launches or company earnings. The price of a share represents the market's collective belief in the probability of a particular event happening.

For example, if a user believes a certain candidate will win an election, they could buy shares in that outcome. If the candidate wins, the shares pay out a profit, often based on the market's consensus. If the candidate loses, the shares become worthless.

Our prediction marketplace is a simple prediction marketplace based on the Telos network. We are currently following a fixed market model. This how it works:

• Each share costs 1 (or a fixed price).

• Winning option splits the shares of the losing option.

A market has the following basic features:

• Expiration date: When market closes and no longer accepts share purchase.

• Question: Market question.

• Choices: In our market we just have two 'yes' or 'no' type choices for users to purchase.

Now say,

1. User 1 buys 10 shares of option A

2. User 2 buys 2 shares of option A

3. User 3 buys 6 shares of option B

If the resolved option is A, user 1 and 2 will split the share of option B=6.

12:6 = Each winning share gets 0.5

User 1 = 15 total return

User 2 = 3 total return
