GiFTED! turns US stock investing into a self-custodied, automated, dollar-native app on Robinhood Chain.

The problem. Retail investors in markets like Nigeria reach US stocks through custodial apps. Those apps charge around 1.5% in commission or FX fees, add a wider spread on naira deposits, settle T+1, trade only during US hours, and hold the shares on the user's behalf.

The product. GiFTED! is a consumer investing app built on Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens:

• Sign up with a passkey (Face ID or fingerprint). There is no password, no seed phrase and no gas to buy. The account key is derived from the passkey, so the same synced passkey restores the same account on any device. Network fees are sponsored.

• Fund in digital dollars, with no currency conversion markup.

• Buy from $1. Fractional buys and sells fill atomically at a live price, within 1%, or not at all.

• Invest on autopilot. Recurring buys run daily, weekly, every two weeks or monthly. They can start today, carry optional price protection, and be paused, resumed or ended at any time.

• Name your price. Limit buys set money aside and fill automatically when the price is reached. Cancelling returns the money.

• Self-custody. Stock Tokens are delivered straight to the user's own account. GiFTED! cannot move them.

• Real time. The app refreshes every block, shows a notification when a background order fills, and lets users fill their own ready orders, so nothing depends on our keeper being online.

How it works.

• GiftedBroker (Solidity, Robinhood Chain): holds users' unspent dollars. It provides instant buy and sell, recurring plans and limit orders. Every execution is checked against a fresh, positive, complete oracle price, with the Stock Token's oraclePaused() flag respected. It enforces slippage bounds, measures received amounts by balance deltas, and caps fees on-chain at 1%. It has a reentrancy guard, two-step ownership and a fail-closed sequencer flag.

• Solvency invariant: the contract tracks total liabilities, meaning balances plus open-order escrow. Foundry invariant tests show this always equals the sum of user claims and never exceeds the stablecoin it holds.

• Venue and prices:

  • Robinhood Chain testnet has no Chainlink Stock Token feeds, so GiFTED! publishes real market prices on-chain through Chainlink-compatible ReferenceFeeds, with about three months of real history.

  • An InventoryRouter fills trades from an inventory of the real testnet Stock Tokens. On mainnet the broker points to the official Chainlink feeds and to Rialto, Uniswap or RFQ market makers.

• Relayer: a keeper, a live price publisher and a gas sponsor, running as serverless functions.

• Stylus (Rust): a matcher that evaluates the same limit-order trigger rules for Arbitrum.

Quality.

• Tests: 21 unit and fuzz tests plus 2 invariants run over 128,000 random calls each.

• Browser test: a headless-Chrome end-to-end test with a virtual passkey covers sign-up, trading, automatic fills and signing back in.

• Explorer: all contracts are verified on the Robinhood Chain testnet explorer.

• Threat model: published in the repo.

Business model. A small, transparent per-trade fee, capped in the contract, plus spread on execution. No token.

Honest scope.

• This is a testnet prototype.

• Dollars on testnet are a faucet test dollar, because the USDG faucet was unavailable in our region.

• Stock Tokens give economic exposure only, are not offered to US persons, and are restricted in some jurisdictions. Launching in Nigeria requires regulatory review.

We started the buildathon with a prototype broker contract and a basic form page. During the buildathon we built:

• Broker contract v2:

  • Instant buy and sell.

  • Recurring plans that can start immediately, with pause and resume.

  • Explicit order statuses and per-user views.

  • Liability accounting and defensive handling of the Stock Token pause flag.

  • Owners can fill their own ready orders.

  • Test suite grown to 21 tests plus invariants.

• Testnet research: verified the real Robinhood Chain testnet Stock Token and USDG addresses. Found that testnet has no Chainlink feeds and designed ReferenceFeeds and an InventoryRouter around that.

• Consumer app (React and TypeScript):

  • Passkey accounts derived from WebAuthn PRF, with gas sponsorship.

  • Home, stock pages, a Robinhood-style order card and a mobile keypad.

  • Recurring, limit and sell flows, activity history, and account and status screens.

  • Live charts from on-chain price history.

  • A landing page with a live globe of Robinhood Chain blocks.

• Real time: block-driven refresh, instant fill notifications, and a serverless keeper and live-price relayer.

• Deployment:

  • Deployed to Robinhood Chain testnet and verified all contracts.

  • Stocked the venue with real testnet Stock Tokens.

  • Backfilled real price history and shipped the app at https://gifted-invest.vercel.app.

  • Tested end to end on production: passkey sign-up, test dollars, and a $10 TSLA buy that delivered real testnet TSLA.

Not currently fundraising. GiFTED! is self-funded and built for this buildathon. After the buildathon we plan to pursue Arbitrum ecosystem grants and milestone funding to reach mainnet.
