Runft is a blockchain powered Fitness-to-NFT platform that converts real-world running activity into unique, tradable digital assets, incentivizing healthy lifestyles across Africa.
Runft is a decentralized Move-to-Earn platform designed to reward physical activity with real digital ownership. It transforms verified running data into generative NFTs, giving users tangible value for their fitness efforts.
By syncing GPS and Strava data, Runft captures distance, route geometry, and activity timestamps to deterministically generate unique NFT art and metadata. Each run is minted on-chain as a verifiable digital asset, establishing permanent ownership of fitness achievements.
The platform empowers individuals to control and monetize their health data, while also enabling community-driven health initiatives through location-based FitZones that reward activity in specific regions. Built on Arbitrum Sepolia, Runft delivers transparent asset provenance and decentralized trust.
It aligns directly with the Power Hacks 2025 mission by combining AI-ready data processing with blockchain to create scalable, socially impactful HealthTech infrastructure for Africa.
During the hackathon, Runft progressed from concept to a fully working Move-to-Earn product. In the first phase, the core problem of unrewarded fitness data was identified, and the Fitness-to-NFT architecture and Move-to-Earn flow were designed, with Arbitrum Sepolia chosen for scalability and low-cost transactions. The second phase focused on building and deploying Solidity smart contracts for NFT minting, integrating Strava and GPS data pipelines, and developing a deterministic generative art engine based on run metadata. In the final phase, a complete React + ShadCN + Tailwind frontend was built, TomTom route visualization was implemented, wallet connections and NFT minting flows were completed, a built-in marketplace was added, and the entire GPS → NFT → Marketplace lifecycle was tested end-to-end.
