Our website is a secure and user-friendly platform designed to help individuals report cybercrimes they have experienced or witnessed. In today’s digital world, cybercrimes such as online fraud, identity theft, social media harassment, and data breaches are becoming increasingly common. Many people, however, are unaware of how to report these incidents. Our portal aims to simplify this process and provide a reliable solution.

To begin, users must first register themselves on the CyberCrime Reporting Portal by providing basic personal details. Once registered, they can log in and click on the “Register Complaint” button to initiate the complaint process.

The platform allows users to submit detailed complaints, including a description of the incident and upload relevant documents or screenshots as evidence. This ensures that authorities receive complete and accurate information to take further action.

Additionally, users can track the status of their complaints through the dashboard, providing transparency and updates as their case progresses.

Our goal is to create a trustworthy space where victims of cybercrime can take the first step toward justice while raising awareness about digital safety.

During the hackathon, our team focused on building a web platform that enables users to report cybercrimes efficiently and securely. We began by brainstorming key features such as user registration, complaint submission, OTP verification, and a dashboard for tracking complaints. On Day 1, we finalized the tech stack and set up the project structure. The frontend was developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (with Tailwind and React for responsiveness and interactivity), while the backend was powered by Node.js and Express. We also integrated a MongoDB database to store user data and complaint details securely. By Day 2, we implemented core functionalities including user signup/login with OTP verification, a clean UI for complaint submission, and a secure API for data handling. We also designed a dashboard to help users view the status of their complaints. In parallel, our team worked on content writing, logo design, and preparing a pitch video to explain the platform’s purpose and impact. Overall, we made significant progress in turning our concept into a functional prototype, focused on usability, security, and raising awareness about cybercrime reporting.
